Loyalty Cards Are In!

I have a special way to show my gratitude toward my fantabulous customers! I have created a loyalty card. Once you have spent $50, you will earn $15 in store credit. Now, the catch, I have them but I may need a little reminder as you check out. Sometimes, believe it or not, I get a tad forgetful!

In addition to all of this fun, Chamber Secret Santa's want to catch you shopping local during the following dates: Dec. 2~4th. If they catch you supporting our local businesses they will have Chamber Bucks ranging from $10-$100 to show their gratitude. Over $1400 in Chamber Bucks will be given away!

Second Helpings Razzle Dazzle Fashion Show

Second Helpings Boutique is going to host a Fashion Show for all of the little shoppers!!!! JB Fitness and Ciao Bella Photography is going to co-host this spectacular event.

Registration is at the store and is happening now through October 31st, first come, first serve, as space is limited.

When: November 21st

Times: First Show ~ 1 pm Second Show ~ 3:30 (The children only model in one show).

Where: JB Fitness ~ Glenwood Square (SW Corner of Sharp & Vine)

Give your little one a chance to strut his or her fashion stuff. Boys and Girls are welcome, ages 0-12 years. Second Helpings will outfit the models with clothing that will showcase the best that it has to offer. There is no obligation to purchase the clothing, only show it off!

Children need to be available to be fitted the week of November 1st. Outfits will need to be returned, directly post show, or the week of November 22nd.

Registration is $15 per child, $10 of each registration will be donated to Glenwood's Love Tree Program. This is a program that offers assistance during the holiday season to those families in need. Registration fees are due at sign up.

Refreshments and prize drawings will be offered. In addition, Ciao Bella Photography will be there to take photos of the children, with an opportunity to purchase.

Second Helpings will be open that day from 12-6 for all of yo holiday shopping needs!

Happy Fall aka Football Season!

Fall is my favorite time of year ~ it means my boys in red are back and ready to rumble! In honor of my favorite team, I am offering 10% off any item that is red or has red on it!!!!!

I have many great Fall items for sale. If you have not stocked your children's closets for Fall, consider starting here at Second Helpings and supplementing with more expensive Department Store finds. I was listening to some friends talk about their back to school shopping sprees and one gal pal was saying she got Gap Jeans 2 for 1 ~ costing only $29. My other gal pal simply replied, "I got Gap jeans for my kids at Steph's shop for $5 a piece." Bam!!!! I may not always have the sizes that you are looking for; keep in mind, items come in regularly so check back. In addition, I do have some backstock, so ask if you are not finding what you are looking for.

I have not put out my winter coats and snowpants, I do have them, so if you are an early bird, let me know and I can let you take a peek.

For those of you with a bun in the oven, I have a wonderful selection of maternity clothing.

New purses, sunglasses, scarves, jewelry, & candles arrive weekly. I have also placed an order for some fashion forward hats! Tutus, floral headbands, and floral hats will also be arriving in the next week. Oh happy Day!!!

Taking Fall ~ Winter Items!

The Fall transition has been completed! Consider starting your "Back to School" shopping at Second Helpings! You will get high quality namebrand items at a fraction of the cost. Supplement with those higher priced department store goodies.

I am taking Fall & Winter items. Remember ~ I offer 30% of Retail as Store Credit. Items need to be clean, stain free, and in working order (no missing buttons, zippers, etc.)

Here are the items that I will consider:

For Boys: Winter Coats, Boots, Hats, Mittens ~ Long Sleeve Shirts &/or Sweaters in sizes 12 months and up. Jeans &/or Pants in sizes 5, 6 & up.

For Girls: Winter Coats, Boots, Hats, Mittens ~ Fall & Winter Dresses & Skirts Sizes 12 mo. and up ~ Long Sleeve Shirts &/or Sweaters in Sizes 12-24 mo; 3 years; 6 years and up.

I do not need pajamas at this time, I have stock and backstock in most sizes.

I will take more items in additional sizes as I run low. I do not have a lot of storage. Keep up with the blog and I will update.

A quick note to let you all know, I continue to add products for mom, sisters, & friends. Check it. Also, as of August 1, I will no longer accept summer items. I will move to store credit for Fall Winter only. Currently, I only will take sizes 18 mo. on up. The smaller sizes do not move as fast. I believe that to be because we get so much for baby showers, that we really do not need a lot until the baby turns 1. I will keep you posted if I renegotiate those terms. Spring is Here?

Ok, we had one really fantastic weather day, but I am hopeful for more!!!!!! I have been selling jeans, Easter dresses, and shorts like crazy. I have a lot more though!!! Prices and quality are tip top. In addition, I have handbags, sunglasses, and sunglass cases. All colors, including pink for the girlie girls. The sunglasses are reminiscent of designer styles, Gucci, Prada, etc. Think Jackie O! Also, Sugar Shack Candles are on the way in all scents! My March special is helping a cause near and dear to my heart. Bring a can of food in and receive 50% off an item of your choice. I am collecting the cans for Relay for Life. They will use them to hold the luminaries in place during the Relay. Afterward, all food will be donated to the Glenwood Food Bank. A pay it forward kind of deal! Happy Days!!!!

Happy March

Hopefully, this whole come in like a lion, go out like a lamb is a farce, let's stay lamb like from here on out. NO MORE SNOW! I will be running a special later in the month, March 15-26th. My special this month is near and dear to my heart. Second Helpings is going into full throttle support of Relay For Life. I help out with the Luminaries committee. This year they are setting up the bags with cans of food rather than sand weights. This is awesome because all of those cans of food will be turned over to the local food pantry. How can you help??? Bring in a can of food and receive 50% off of an item of your choice! How is that for pay it forward? You benefit, the pantry benefits, and relay benefits. A win~win for all. February Sale!

Come one, come all. The February Promotion has begun! Any item with pink or red in it will be discounted by 25%. This will run until February 14th. Now people, boy's clothing does fall into these categories as well. There are penty of boy items with red, and even a little pink. Reminder, I have handbags!!!!!! Hey all, I am standing here looking out my window and much snow. Quite frankly, if I never saw snow again, I would not find myself in tears. Anyway, I am going to offer different Monthly sales for 1 week periods. I am currently offering a Winter Sale at 35% off your entire purchase, no exceptions! That is a mighty fine savings. In addition, I am not taking clothing at this time. I still have quite a bit of winter merchandise to work through and December was a slow month. My fear is that January will be as well considering all of the icky weather.
